Pulp Fiction (“The One That Says Bad Motherfucker”) Original Painting

Summary

Original Pulp Fiction painting titled “The One That Says Bad Motherfucker” by contemporary artist Bart Carels.

Title: ‘The One That Says Bad Motherfucker’
Artist: Bart Carels
Year: 2019

Progress Shots

The images below show you the overall progress of the painting from start to finish. I started on a blank canvas and painted it with a mixture of gesso and burnt sienna. Next, I used a darker brown tone to create the overall lines and composition (at this point people thought I was painting Bruce Lee :)) After this I started with filling Jules’ shirt, head, arm and ‘Bad Motherfucker’ wallet. Next, I continued with the diner booth and stone wall in the background. When this first layer was done I added extra layers to fill in spots that didn’t get covered entirely. The final and most time consuming stage was adding details like the highlights on the booth, Samuel’s shirt and skin.

Back to the future 2 Original Painting

Summary

Original Back to the future II painting titled “Batter Up!” by contemporary artist Bart Carels.

Title: ‘Batter Up!’
Artist: Bart Carels
Year: 2019

Progress Shots

The images below show you the overall progress of this back to the future 2 original painting from start to finish. I started on a blank canvas and created the linework with pencil. Next I used acrylic paint to gradually put in the background, followed by the Nike Air Mag’s and hoverboard. The shadow underneath the hoverboard really gives the feeling the board is floating above the ground.

Description

Back to the future 2 original painting titled ‘Batter Up!’ by contemporary artist Bart Carels.

The painting is from a scene in the movie where Marty swerves over the water and the board stops. The gang that’s after Marty tells him that hoverboards don’t work over water “unless you’ve got power.” Griff gets out his “Pit Bull”, a jet-powered hoverboard and gets ready to hit Marty with his bat. The gang hooks up to the back of the Pit Bull and all four go after Marty. At the last second, Griff swings, but Marty jumps down into the water, and Griff misses. The gang fly out of control and smash through the glass windows of the courthouse.

This artwork shows Marty McFly’s Nike Air Mag’s on his hoverboard. The original artwork is hand-painted. The fine art prints / posters are reproductions and digital versions of the original painting, printed on Museum-quality thick, durable and matte paper.
